She Kept Appearing – My Mary Magdalene Pilgrimage Begins
Jun 15, 2025“She kept appearing.”
In the voices I admire — like Zach Bush, MD.
In whispers from friends.
In the books I was reading.
In the land of my ancestors.
In the quiet ache for something more whole.
That “she” is Mary Magdalene.
And today, I begin a sacred pilgrimage through southern France —
land of the legends and living presence of Mary Magdalene.
There are eight of us. Strangers, for now.
Yet a golden thread already connects us. I can feel it.
I don’t have expectations.
I have a longing.
A longing for deeper integration within myself.
A longing for a new way to be in the world — beyond division, beyond duality.
A longing for a feminine path that complements, not competes with, what I was raised in.
As a child, I proactively searched for faith.
My mum was a non-practising Catholic.
My dad, an atheist.
And I was drawn to churches — captivated by their immensity and stillness.
But I longed for something warmer… cosier… more alive.
In that search, I joined a conservative Christian environment and remained in it for over 20 years.
It gave me structure, belonging, and community at a time I needed it.
But it also left parts of me unseen and unheard.
It was deeply patriarchal.
And it left little room for embodied spirituality — for the sacred feminine, for mysticism, for softness, for rage.
For the past 13 years, I’ve been seeking something different.
A more whole, human, and integrated spirituality.
This pilgrimage is part of that ongoing journey.
And it feels like a profound deepening of my professional path, too.
Because I no longer believe our personal and professional lives are separate.
Because I believe leadership needs more love.
Wellbeing needs more mysticism.
And those who guide others need spaces to be guided, too.
Over the next 12 days, I’ll be walking ancient paths, kneeling at cave entrances, and listening for modern wisdom.
I’ll be dancing, grieving, singing, laughing.
Letting go. Tuning in. Becoming more human.
If you’re reading this, thank you for walking beside me — digitally, energetically, or in spirit.
I’ll share what rises from the listening.
And I’d love to hear your reflections too 🌹
Follow the pilgrimage in real-time or catch the unfolding story on Instagram, Facebook, or LinkedIn — where I’ll be gently weaving this sacred journey into the way I live, lead, and work.
