Mind the Gap: A Call to Honour Life’s Thresholds

Mar 21, 2025

That familiar phrase on the London Underground — Mind the gap — carries a quiet wisdom. Not just for commuters, but for all of us navigating life’s in-between moments.

Because right now, we’re standing at a threshold. The Spring Equinox: a moment where light and dark hold equal weight. A fleeting pause before the tilt begins again.

And yet… our culture rarely honours these transitions. We rush into the next thing. We cling to what’s familiar or catapult into what’s new.

But nature doesn’t move like that.

She pauses.
She breathes.
She balances.

Even now — whether we’re commuting into a city, working, parenting, planning summer, or ticking off to-do lists — the earth is turning.
Buds are appearing.
Roots are deepening.
Life is preparing to emerge.

And none of us would be here if it weren’t for her.

So perhaps this is a gentle call:

  • To mind the gap.
  • To honour the space between seasons.
  • To let there be a pause between breaths.
  • To allow integration before momentum.
  • To trust the wisdom of slow, subtle change.

Because not everything needs to be rushed.

In these liminal spaces, a different kind of AI exists - Not artificial intelligence, but ancient intelligence.

And sometimes the most powerful thing we can do
is simply… be with the moment.

Feel your phone in your hands as you read this.
Feel your feet on the ground.
Feel your breath moving into your lungs.

Be here, now.

Mind the gap.
